Weekly, I have been invited to put together 5 things of interest as part of Penguin + Rhino’s brilliant new blog. Take a peek- week one is up. I’d love to know what you think.
Being a self-pronounced Pinterest junkie and lover of all things visual, I just discovered the stunningly beautiful, ever serene and emotionally charged work of Alicia Savage. Her photographic self-portrait work, is a must-see. Enjoy.
This image from theyallhateus.com (I site I really enjoy), captures what I need this evening. Good company, loud music, and lots and lots and LOTS of dancing. Back, don’t fail me now.
In support of Spring, I just purchased a pair of these Steve Madden slip on sneakers. The combination of faux snake skin and flat studs, create a brilliantly urban and chic shoe. For the day-to-day or even in the evening to catch-up with friends or to go dancing, go Eros or go home.
Today, I am attending Toronto Fashion Week and will be attending the NARCES show. This is the look I am aspiring too, for this evening. Long and lean. Simple and chic. Reflecting the fact that Spring is now officially here….regardless of the endless piles of ice and snow.
I believe in big, handmade blankets, artisan shawls, or oversized sweaters, over the housecoat. Be it when I first wake, or am decompressing at the end of the day, my go-to is very much like this String Theory shawl. Pure bliss.
This piece is by Brendon Burton. I see it as a play on how you want to see your day…either half empty, or half full.
This all happened in the winter of 2011. Photographer and furniture designer Ana Kraš flew from her home in Belgrade, Serbia into to Los Angeles, where she’d been sent on assignment to photograph artist-musician Devendra Banhart. In the first five minutes, Devendra asked her to marry him. Despite Ana’s initial impulse to flee, she stayed—and the two have been together ever since.
This terrarium (which is a personal love of mine) instantly takes you to that quiet space, that many will overlook but a few of us will find refuge in. Thank you, Jennifer Williams.
If I had to chose a uniform, this would be it. From the artistic nails, oversized soft leather clutch, moss overcoat and converse – this is the ultimate street chic look.
